2nd crit: a good jumping off point

so we met at LAB for this crit. i was happy to not have to schlep all my shit over to the CSB since it was my turn to show...
everyone had some good comments. lots of bowls on the table... piled up in various heights was an interesting set up... waiting on showing the big bowls that will be placed on front, middle, and end of table.
the 18" high table i thought was going to be old barnwood: suggested by megan and reiterated by others in the crit to keep it in a contemporary context. so maybe i am going to construct it out of plywood and either paint it black or cover it with sheet copper. i love copper and have used it in a number of sculptural works. i love playing with it (it's an easier metal to manipulate), and it looks warm, comfortable, inviting, it has energetic component to it that can't be denied. it may cost me about $150.00 or more for the copper, but i might just be willing to shell that out knowing that i will use the table for display of other works...
i am hoping my old teacher who said he might let me fire in his anagama kiln will follow through. i dont know of this is going to happen as i don't have as many bowls for this project as i originally thought. its just not possible to do what i thought was going to be the original project, but i like how this idea is evolving.
looking forward to meeting with my ceramics teacher from RVCC,- she has been around for a while, knows her shit (for REAL), and tells it like it is. i appreciate that, and would love her input on this whole thing...
